WARRANT OF FITNESS

A WoF check is a comprehensive safety check of your vehicle. During a WoF inspection all of the safety elements on your vehicle are inspected, helping to keep you safe on the road. When everything is safe on your vehicle, you, your family and other motorists are more likely to avoid accidents or walk away safely from one.

To conduct a WoF inspection our mechanics have to be certified with New Zealand Transport Agency and conduct regular update training. They must also follow NZTA compliance guidelines.

A Warrant of Fitness check is $65.

SERVICING

If a WoF is a safety check then a service is a health check. Having the engine oil and filter changed at regular intervals means the oil can pass through the engine and lubricate all the parts appropriately. If the oil ages it can become thick and gluggy meaning unlubricated parts can wear on each other, leading to faults and failures.

Our mechanics change the engine oil and oil filter during a service and assess the general health of your engine. The way they do this is by checking the following:

Engine oil & filter changed

Gear oil level & condition

Air filter

All fluid levels & condition

Washers & Wipers

Spare wheel

Steering & suspension

Brakes

Battery condition

Tyre pressure

After checking over everything we will let you know what looks good and what we recommend replacing as well as the estimated cost.

Standard service pricing depends on the amount and type of oil your vehicle requires but a rough guide is:

Small Engine Petrol : $220 -$280 (Corolla, Swift, Tiida)

Euro or Mid / Large Engine Petrol : Starting $250 (Outlander, Commodore, Golf)

Car/ Medium SUV Diesel : $280 -$350 (CX5, Santa Fe)

Late Model Ute/ Large SUV Diesel : Starting $300 (Ranger, Prado)

If you call us on 06 323 5180 we can give you an estimate for your specific vehicle in a few minutes.

Tyres

The tyres on your vehicle can dramatically change the smoothness of your drive. Worn tyres are also one of the most common safety issues we encounter. When tyre tread is worn it won’t grip to the road, meaning you are more likely to have an accident or not be able to stop if an accident occurs.

We are able to fit and balance new tyres in the workshop which will make your life easier. Instead of having to take your vehicle to another workshop we can sort it out for you. You can have your car warranted, serviced and the tyres changed all in one place.

Talk to us about the different options available for your vehicle. We are able to supply more cost effective tyres right through to high performance and mud tyres for off road vehicles across a range of brands.

FAULTS & REPAIRS

fAULT dIAGNOSIS

Has a pesky light come up on your dashboard? Or maybe a shudder or shake when driving? These unknowns can be a constant worry while driving. Bring your vehicle in to us to figure out what is going on.

Faults that are left unchecked can lead to issues becoming more severe, costing you more time and money. By getting faults assessed early you could save yourself money and keep your family safer on the road.

Our mechanics work on all makes and models of all ages so they have a wealth of knowledge to help you with your vehicle issues. Pair this with high tech scan equipment and you have a recipe for success.

Diagnosis is a process, a process through which we think communication is the most important tool. At all stages we will let you know what we are assessing and why so you can understand whats going on at all times.

Repairs

From time to time your vehicle may need a little more TLC than a service. Once a fault has been highlighted during a WoF check or diagnosed specifically you need not take your car elsewhere. In most cases we are able to repair your vehicle on site.

We will inform you what the issue is, explain what it means, how we will fix it and then provide a quote for the repair. Once you approve the job we will go ahead and make it our top priority to get it sorted for you.

bRAKES

Brakes are a common issue to be diagnosed in a WoF check but they can also cause problems, and embarrassment if they begin squeaking and scraping.

If your brakes are beginning to make noises it can be a warning that they are wearing and need replacing. The sooner you get this rectified the safer, and quieter, your vehicle will be.

If brake issues are left too long brake pads can wear through completely and start to damage more parts. This can become a bigger safety risk as well as more expensive to repair.

sUSPENSION

Suspension affects not only how smooth your ride is but also what capability your vehicle has on different terrains.

Whether you are having issues with your suspension and need a simple replacement or if you are looking to upgrade your suspension to something a bit more hard wearing we can help you out.

Ask our mechanics about the different kinds of suspension they recommend for on farm, off road and 4WD use.

bATTERIES

There is nothing worse than trying to start your car on a cold morning and the battery is flat.

If you are having issues with your battery or simply want to check it’s health bring your vehicle by the workshop.

We can test your battery health, charge batteries and supply SuperCharge Batteries for when it simply needs replacing.
